a winter's sunset.......

Hi there. You might all be saying i doubt it very much that these are the colours of winter, but I saw this sunset today when I visited my friend.

All the stamps I used here are from Hobby Art scene it range. I started by stamping the house first and then built the scene around it. All stamping is in jet black archival ink. I did extend the trees on the right hand side though, with a black pen.

I used distress inks to colour sky after masking off an area for the sun. The colours are barn door, victorian velvet, wild honey, mustard seed and tumbled glass. I used the round mini blenders for this. 

Then I coloured in sun using barn door, wild honey and mustard seed. The deer and stag are painted in with a damp brush and brushed corduroy and vintage photo.

The snow is done by a makeup sponge, torn copy paper and weathered wood.

A black sharpie round all the edges and some glossy accents with iced snow sprinkled on it finish it off.

Hello again. A change from Christmas cards although i still have a stash that haven't shared.

This card is created on gelli plate.I brayered inks onto plate and then stamped  directly onto plate with archival inks.

All the stamps are Lavinia. Before pulling print I added a moon mask to my card.

Then I added some more stamps onto card again in archival inks. I darkened edges with chipped sapphire and black soot distress inks.

I finished card off by adding some white perfect pearls and glitter. Some matting and layering and voila'.

I hope you like my make. I do enjoy making these flat cards that have lots of depth to them - sounds like a contradiction, lol! Theresa xx

Hello there. Before I proceed I would like to wish all of you a blessed Christmas and a prosperous 2015.

This set of cards all started with an idea going round in my head and a lot of what ifs. i tired them out and this is the result.

Below is a pic of both cards together and further down there is another version.

In all of them I started with a piece of kraft card and I stamped the trees in black archival ink. I clear embossed it in the one with the stag.

I tore a piece of copy paper and using snow cap adirondack and a make up sponge i created the snow extending it out from stamped image.

I dipped the end of a brush in the same ink and plotted it on trees. using a white sharpie pen I added centres to splodges and some snow on branches and trunks. I also added some light shadows on trunks. 

In the Christmas one I decided to add the stag for some added interest.

Sentiments are stamped in versamark and embossed in ivory.

Some matting and layering and pearls finish the cards off.

Below is the invite that started it all off. 

A friend of mine tried to describe it and asked me to make her a wedding card along the same lines.

Not having seen invite I came up with this card.

All the stamps apart from wedding one are from Claritystamp Ltd.

season's greetings .....

Hello. Back again with a card I made using Visible Image stamps. I got inspiration from a gift card that I saw that used blue and silver.

I inked a piece of white card with distress inks using a number of blues and a bit of black soot. I dried it slightly and then using the snowflakes i stamped with water and dried with kitchen roll fter a few seconds. This gave a bleached stamped effect. 

I also flicked some water at the background and then dried it off with paper and heat tool. I then overstamped with same snowflakes and the darker distress inks all over background.

Next I stamped the largest Christmas tree in versamark and embossed in platinum tinsel. I used the stars from the Jake set to stamp the stars. I actually separated the stars out for this as the stamp comes in a small cluster of 3. Treated same way as tree.

The greeting is from the Gaudete set. I didn't have a star for the tree so i drew it freehand with versamark pen and embossed it. 

I bleached off a bit more colour around stars using a damp brush .

Matted on pearlescent dark blue and white base card and finished off with some gems.

snow

Hello there. Today's offering was one of the gifts that I made for the first 5 people that commented on my status on Facebook a few months ago.

The word is from the MDF man. I covered them in snow papers that I had in my stash and sanded them down. 

Then I stamped a Justrite snowflake randomly using glue and gilded in silver. I cut several Tim Holtz snowflakes out of card covered with double sided adhesive. I covered them in distress glitter.

I added some more embellishments and a bit of puff paint to mimic snow. I brushed all the edges with sapphire gilding wax.

I threaded some twine through the holes and the hanging ornament was finished.

classmates' cards...

Hello again. Hopefully today is a quick post with loads of pics. I must confess that I didn't make these cards. They were all made by my 6 yr old Massimo.

I am really in awe of him. He came home from school on Tuesday and said: "Mum I need to make  my Christmas cards". He needed 28 for classmates and 4 for teachers.

He wasn't at all phased. So I showed him some stencils and he picked the ones he wanted to use. 

He loves my distress inks and also the ink dusters. So it was team work as he keeps saying.

I cut the cards and stuck the stencils down so they don't move and he was inking away.

When it came to the above cards I showed him how to use the make up sponge and away he went.

Between yesterday (Saturday) and today we finished the stamping. I helped him somewhat there making sure he didn't move the stamp too much. All the stamps are from Claritystamp.

He has written them all on the inside as well. 

Now all he has left to do is to write the envelopes and pop a chocolate in each and he's done.

I am so proud of him. He worked like a trouper. He didn't even think about watching telly but concentrated on getting them done.

Seeing him inspired me to make some similar cards. In turn he decided to copy mine to make the teacher cards.

As a finishing touch i added a little bit of sparkle with a sakura pen. It is subtle and difficult to photograph.

Below are the teacher cards he made. I did the siggly outline and the matting and layering.

For sure at his age I wouldn't have been able to produce this.
