Classroom homework - leafy swirls

Wasn't the lesson just fab today? Enjoyed looking at all the homework that was sent in and also the amazing samples sent in by all the talented dt ladies.

Here are the ones I sent in:

I started by creating a 6x6 gelli print using red acrylic paint and leafy swirl stencil. I also used the dotty wave and a web stencil. i then stamped the small and large leafy swirls with black archival and clear embossed. Then I added birds from lesson 18 in certain areas again in black archival and clear embossed. Using barn door distress ink and small leafy swirl i stamped it randomly on background.
Next I stamped best wishes in black archival and clear embossed. i cut it out with a spellbinder label and matted it on another die cut in black. I attached it with foam pads for some dimension. I matted the print onto black and added some cosmic shimmer dimensional glue in berry red and black for some extra interest. It was then matted onto a white linen base card.
finished card is 8x8.

These are the other 2 tags i sent in. I started by stamping leafy swirls onto tags with versamark and clear embossing them. next i used distress inks to cover whole background. Usig same colours and leafy swirl stamps, i stamped randomly on background. i repeated this with the NDC stamp. Then i polished tag to remove any ink from clear embossing.
I finished tags off by adding some paper flowers and matching ribbon

Hope you like these. take care Theresa xx

sweet lilac flowers and leafy swirl stamps

Hello today I'm featuring my favourite stamps. I started by stamping the large and small leafy swirls on a narrow strip of theuva card with coffee archival and clear embossed. I also stamped and clear embossed best wishes at bottom of card. using the wavy dot stencil i brushed first antique linen and then tea dye distress ink with ink dusters.

I mounted it on pale green and added a lovely sweet lilac flower where the two flourishes join. attached all to a DL white base card and 'voila' a quick and easy card.

A variation on same theme:

Other variations always using same stamps and sweet lilac flowers

All for now and enjoy whatever you do xxTheresa

Jazz time

This is the birthday card i made for my brother. I started with a gelli print using brick, number and dotty wave stencils from Claritystamp. I used black acrylic paint and silver but it's hard to see that in pic. Next I stamped the jazz background from Claritystamp with black archival and clear embossed it. I then stamped the jazz man with black archival in 2 diagonal corners just for positioning and for cane. I stamped and embossed words from Clarity stamp on background to add to distressed look. The background was further distressed by rubbing gilding wax on in some areas. I used copper and silver.
I stamped jazzman twice on theuva card and clear embossed the shoes and gloves. I cut them out and stuck them down where i had previously stamped them on background using Pinflair glue. Then I distressed edges by running scissors along edges to fray them slightly. I wrapped some twine around the other 2 corners and added some ideology bits from Tim Holtz. Mounted it on kraft card base. Finished size is 21x21cm

Hope it all makes sense. all for now and happy crafting, Theresa xx

Fussy and fancy challenge entry

This weeks challenge was a bingo board. I chose Blue, Free(stamped image), button. Well I nearly included all board as I have ribbon, pearls and green in there!

I started by cutting tag 20x9 cm, I used centura pearl card. Then using Sheena Douglas' Christmas stamps, i stamped sentiments in versamark on upper third of tag and embossed with stardust stampendous embossing powder. Then using distress inks, a brush and some water I covered the whole tag. I started with tumbled glass, shaded lilac, peeled paint and finally chipped sapphire to darken the upper end. I stamped the farmhouse image from same set of stamps in black archival and again used the 2 blue distress inks with water to 'paint' image. I used white acrylic paint to paint in snow. I added some ribbon and a few pearls and the tag was ready.

Next I prepared the acetate pocket. I used heat resistant acetate and stamped borders with versamark on a piece measuring 11x11cm. I embossed with white embossing powder. I used the thin super sticky tape to stick it down on navy blue base card. I could put a line on bottom behind stamped border, on upper side i put 2 little pieces under the 2 hearts on the side. The button is there to hide another bit of sticky tape. The button is a wooden one that I triple embossed in silver embossing powder.

The tag then fits inside the pocket and voila' it's another Christmas card done.

All for now, Theresa xx

Summertime

Well i'm very chuffed to have been asked to be part of the Sweet lilac DT. It's all very exciting as the first challenge for the blog is launched. This is the card I have prepared for some inspiration.....

This card was started by a gelli print in brown which was trimmed down. Ella bella was stamped with black archival and clear embossed. The same stamp was used to create flourishes all around. The white areas where tinted with distress inks squeezed lemonade and tumbled glass using ink dusters. Then it was matted and layered on complimenting card and finally on taupe A5 sized card. It was embellished with flourish dies from spellbinders and finally a Sweet lilac flower added to right corner to finish it off. The card is an A5 that has the spine on the left.

All for now Theresa x

Clarity Challenge - Animals

This ws my entry for the clarity stamp Challenge for this month with the animal theme. It was inspired by Barbara Gray after watching the last classroom. The background is created on gelli plate using leafy swirls stencil and brown acrylic. I masked off the central piece to leave space for stamping. I stamped the horse and carriage From Clarity stamp with sepia archival ink. Then added sun mask and added blue for sky with broken china distress ink and a make-up sponge.added some shadows underneath stamped images to ground them in a brown distress ink and added a bit of yellow for contrast. I removed mask and stamped the birds from the harbour set.

I matted it onto brown card and used taupe for background.

Finished size is 8x8 inches.

This is another version created by my 5 yr old son who wanted to do homework for Barbara. He chose colours, and stamps and did all the work. I only made a mask for hills. he inked with ink dusters as he loves them.

I stuck the finished card onto kraft card. Again finished dimensions 8x8.

That's all for today. Might just get used to this and you will get fed up with me ;) xx

Trial

Well I've been asked to create a blog. I don't know what i'm doing but i'm going to try. so here goes:

With love at Christmas time

I embossed cream card after inking embossing folder with fired brick distress ink on one side and and antique linen on the other. I cut one of the long sides on a diagonal to create a trifold with different layers. The sentiment is from heartfelt creations Christmas set and cut with a circle die from spellbinders. it was stamped with coffee archival and inked lightly with fired brick distress ink while still in die. i cut the bauble from the matching heartfelt creations die set 5 times folded them in half and then stuck them together leaving 2 sides free to attach to card. i attached this to front of card and topped it with a poinsettia from Sweet lilac flowers. I cut various holly flourishes and leaves in antique gold card and stuck them along upper edges. Finally i added some green pva glue from cosmic shimmer and the sentiment on middle panel.

Hope this makes sense xx
