Christmas wreath ....

Hello friends. Finally I can share this with you as the recipient has received it. It is now hanging in front of her mirror.

The blank wreath was made of thick grey mountboard which I gessoed. I then painted with ice blue chalk paint and once dry I went over it with a generous coat of pva glue. Once it had started to set I painted over with a mixture of chalk and metallic white paint. As it dries it crackles. I do love watching it, the proverbial watching paint dry but this is interesting. I wanted it to have an icy snowy feel to it, hence the colour choices.

I then die cut several poinsttias using Sheena's perfect partner dies, out of Papermania gold capsule collection. I also cut some ivy out of white card. Once cut i stamped them with the respective samps using potting soil archival ink for poinsettias and olive green for ivy.
I inked round the edges of flowers with walnut stain and spritzed them with water and shaped them.
I painted ivy with aqua tints and shaped it and left to dry.

I assembled the flower and added the little clusters as centres. I also went round all the edges of poinsettias in cosmic shimmer glue and sprinkled them with iced diamond sprinkles.

I went over the painted wreath with beaded glitter gel and added some more micro beads in clear, gold and turquoise.
Once dry I added the fibres and then assembled flowers and ivy as shown. I also dded some gold and red berries.
A piece of twine as a hangar was the last thing I added.

snow....

Hello and welcome back. Today I thought i'll share another MDF project on here. I hope you don't mind, But I do love making and giving these out as presents.
Christmas is only a week away, yikes!....... and I am nowhere near ready.

I got this word from Rob the MDF man. I started by covering all the letters in wintry papers. I've had them for years, from the time when craft was on QVC.

Then it was time to do some stamping. So I stamped with versamark ink and a snowflake and embossed in silver tinsel. crystal, and blue tinsel.

Then I went round all the edges with silver gilding wax.
Now it was time to turn my attention to embellishments. I had some wooden snowflakes in different sizes which I thought would be perfect for this. So I set about decorating them.

For the smaller ones I embossed in silver tinsel, blue tinsel and white sparkle. I added a pearl to the centre of them.

I painted the large one on the 'n' in ice blue fresco paint. Then I added a layer of pva glue and once it started setting, painted over it with snowflake acrylic paint. And then the magic happens and it starts to crackle. Once it dried I added a pinh of  beaded glitter paste to it to add further texture and sparkle.

The other medium ones, I embossed in chunky white powder and on one added a sprinkle of blue tinsel and on the other stardust.

Once I stuck them into place I got out blingy and pearl swirls and attached them as shown. I am not normally a lover of bling but I think it is fine on Christmas projects.

As a final touch I added some snow and sprinkled it with diamond sprinkles. Then I assembled it with silver cord and it was ready to be given to my older son's form teacher.
So I hope you approve. My son said his teacher loved it, hugs Theresa xx.

Christmas Wishes

Hello my crafty friends. Time is going so fast, I nearly missed this post. totally forgot that it was time to blog my Tuesday Through the Craft Room Door inspiration.

This week our sponsor is Ann Fenton designs who is offering digis from her etsy store to the winner.

I chose to work with her Grapevine wreath and I used it to make 2 cards that are quite similar.

As usual the details of how I made them will be in the next TTCRD magazine which will be published shortly.

I do hope that you can glean the details from the pics and I hope you can join us for this challenge.

As always the theme is anything goes. So it would be nice to see on the other side, hugs Theresa xx

happy holidays

Hello my friends. Today I am very excited to be hosting the Fussy and Fancy blog challenge. This is definitely a first for me.
The theme is Christmastime so quite apt for this time of year.

My offering for today is an advent calendar I made for my kids. It was a kit I got from tonic and it had the dies and papers included. The papers were the twelve days of Christmas and i must say they were beatiful and really good quality.

So first I assembled all the little drawers and left the glue to dry. In the meantime I assembled the main compartment and left it to dry. Then it was time to paint it. I mixed 4 different acrylic paints to get the hue I wanted. I used red and added a bit of blue red dyna paint and gold dyna paint. Finally I mixed in some french roast paperartsy chalk paint.

I painted the drawers inside and out and also all the sides of the the holder including the back.
I then glued the papers onto chipboard cutouts and cut them out. I glued them to the sides.
I then die- cut gold mirri board fronts for all the drawers and a mat out of the papers. I cut 2 out of every paper (2x12=24).
I then die-cut the numbers out of chipboard and mirri board and glued everything on.
Then it was time to use the gilding wax. I went round all the edges including the drawers with renaissance gold wax by pebeo.

Finally it was time to embellish. The poinsettias are from Sweetlilac flowers. The leaves and berries are from my stash.
So now it is up to you. This challenge will run for 4 weeks so you have ample time to join us.
For more inspiration you can go to the main blog and you will find all the other projects from my team mates.

green and blue

Hello my crafty friends. So nice of you to drop by to check my post. i hope it won't be a very long one.

Last Saturday I went to the Motorcycle Museum craft fair and on one of the stalls I came across these little background papers. They are just over 3 inches square. I thought they would be great for quick cards so I picked some.

i picked some of the backgrounds and started playing. These cards are some of the ones I made. They are all made in same way.

Using library green archival ink i stamped the fir trees repeatedly in first and second generation ink. I also changed the height to give impression of a slope.

I stamped sentiment in black archival and embossed in crystal embossing powder.
All the stamps used are from Claritystamp Ltd.

I added some snow on trees by adding white dots of snowflake paperartsy chalk paint with a fine embossing stylus.

I then added some cosmic shimmer crystal glitter glue. I matted on black card and attached to white 5 inch square base card.

And voila' a quick and easy Christmas card that is also CAS. I do hope you like them and would love to read all your comments, Theresa xx.
