Christmas Sentiments

Hello my crafty friends. It is Tuesday once again and so time for the anything goes challenge over at TTCRD.

This week we are sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.

I did go to town and decided to use 3 of the sentiments and create 3 cards. It gave me a chance to use the gel pens and also to use some neglected dies.

All I used then was some nice card, ribbon and embellishments and glues to make the pearls.

Hello, my crafty friends. Today I have another CAS card on offer. This was once again inspired by The LIM challenge.

I thought of this Crafter's Companion die and decided to try it out. So I die cut it on the base card. The card needed lifting so I decided to add some embossed stamping in ivory. The stamps are designs by Chloe that came with Creative Stamping magazine.

It was still lacking something so I added some diamond stickles which gave it a nice sparkle that is difficult to photograph. Let me know what you think, hugs Theresa xx

Christmas Joy

Hello there. It is time for another TTCRD anything goes challenge. I finished this card just in time. I had coloured the image but didn't manage to assemble the card until tonight.

This week we are sponsored by Ike's Art. The lucky winner will get $15 voucher to use in the shop.

I chose to work with another Christmas image called Christmas candles. I really liked the vintage feel of this image. It is coloured with spectrum noir pencils which blend really nicely.

The die cuts are by Spellbinders.

pretty in pink

Hello again. It is time for another FFFC. The theme this month is pretty in pink. Now for those who know me, they will know that I don't do pink. I find it really blocks me on a creative level.

So this is my take on the challenge hosted by my teamie, Julie. For this card, I used the dies from Sarah's Glamour collection by Crafter's Companion. I made an easel card. I die cut the mirror from black card and used gilding wax around the edge to give it a regal and antique finish. I left the lady as a silhouette and added pink mirri card on the lower part of her skirt. A pearl doubles up as an earring. I die cut another lady and attached her to some silver mirri card and then die cut her.

This gives the illusion that there is a reflection in the mirror.

hot and spicy

Hello crafty friends. This post was once again inspired by the LIM challenge. This week it was the colour week and the colour choice was hot and spicy.

Since I'm trying to make Christmas cards, I immediately thought of this silhouette image.

So I got out 4 sparkle pens; yellow, orange, red and brown and created 2 square backgrounds. I spritzed them lightly with water to allow the colours to blend more.

I went round the edges with a black Sharpie pen. The sentiment is by Just Rite and it is clear embossed.

And hence 2 more cards off the list. I wish you could see the sparkle, but that doesn't photograph well or I am not able to take proper pics, lol!

Fill your heart with Christmas

Hello blog friends. This card was supposed to be for last week's sketch challenge over at the LIM challenge. However, I never made it in time.

As this week the theme is watercolour, I thought that they might work for this week as the background was made with sparkle pens spritzed with water.

Stamps and dies are all from Sheena Douglass perfect partners range. I coloured lights in using sakura glaze pens as this makes them glossy and they look more realistic.

These lights do take me back in time when I was little and we had these lights on our tiny Christmas tree. Hence the sentiment as they made me somewhat emotional.

The pictures don't do them justice as in real life they are uber sparkly. Also, you might be wondering why I added the background. That would be to hide the smudges, lol!

So I'm hoping that I won't get told off again this week. Hugs, Theresa xx

braid in my hair

Hello there my friends. It is time for another TTCRD anything goes challenge. This week we are sponsored by Conie Fong Art.

The lucky winner will get a $10 voucher in her shop. She does have some lovely images and it is well worth a visit. I chose to work with an image called Braids in my hair. I must say that I really liked this image. There are a certain serenity and tranquillity in this picture.

I printed her on milk coloured card as I read that it allows you to create better light and dark contrasts. Below you can see the spectrum noir pencils that I used to colour her in.

I wanted to make an easel card and so use the new Tonic dies that I had recently bought. So I die cut her out of one of the shapes. I tried to find matching mirri card and also patterned paper. I thought that the flowers on the Anna Griffin paper matched the ones on her hair.

The bow is also part of the die set that makes the shaped easel card. I finished it off with a pearl as I felt the centre was a bit bare.
