New beginnings

Hello and happy new year to all. It is time for another Sunday Song and Rhyme challenge. this time the sponsor is Sherry West Art. The winner will be getting the 3 images used by the DT.

Our song this time is chosen by Cara:

All I did was print out the image and colour it with promarkers. I added some highlights on the butterflies with a sakura glitter pen. The sentiment is from a set by Simon says stamps which I die cut and matted onto holographic card. I finished it off with some gems.

Now it is over to you. To play in this challenge you do not have to follow the Song/Rhyme to the letter. We only ask that you find something in the song or rhyme to inspire your card/project and that you tell us what your inspiration was in your blog post. (This is required to be eligible for the prize)
take care, Theresa xx

Presents

Hello again. Time is going so fast and I have again missed posting by a day.
It is a new challenge from Sunday Song and Rhyme.

Our sponsor for this month is LeighSBDesigns. The winner will receive 2 images.

Our Song/Rhyme this fortnight is from Lorie

Baby's First Christmas
By Cj Heck
So, this is Christmas morning...
everyone is here.
I don't really understand it
cause it isn't very clear,

but Mom and Dad are happy,
there's pretty ribbons everywhere,
lots of things that they call presents
and even paper I can tear.

They keep showing me this new stuff,
balls and books and even soxes...
they don't seem to know how fun it is
just playing with these boxes.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF YOU DO NOT TELL US WHAT INSPIRED YOU, YOUR CARD/PROJECT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PRIZE DRAW!

So onto my card. I did not use an image from the sponsor. I cut 3 rectangles to make presents and strips of mirri card and glitter card. The bow and sentiment are Memory Box dies. The papers are from Crafter's Companion.
So now it is over to you, good luck. Theresa xx

Warm Wishes

Here we are again with another challenge from Sunday Song and Rhyme. This week our sponsor is Mirtillamente who are offering 2 images to the winner.

Our Song/Rhyme this fortnight is from Susan

What a wonderful bird the frog are!
When he stands he sit almost;
When he hop he fly almost.
He ain't got no sense hardly;
He ain't got no tail hardly either.
When he sit, he sits on what he ain't got almost.
Anon.

I chose to work with a background paper from the sponsor that to me screamed Christmas. I added some sparkle to it with a sakura glitter pen. I was inspired by the phrase: what a wonderful bird.
The sentiment and image are from G45. To finish off I added sakura clear glaze pen to the berries and the cardinal's eyes.

And now it is for you to join us here, Theresa xx.

snowy landscapes

Hello again. I'm late to the parade. This week's Sunday Song and Rhyme Challenge has been up and running since Sunday.
Our sponsor for this month is Morgan's Artworld! with the images used by DT as the prize.

Our Song/Rhyme this fortnight is from Nan

The Little Christmas Carollers
By L. A. Franc

We are a band of carollers,
We march through frost and snow,
But care not for the weather
As on our way we go.

At every hall or cottage
That stands upon our way,
We stop to give the people
Best wishes for the day.

We pray a merry Christmas,
Made bright by Christmas cheer,
With peace, and hope, and gladness
And all they may hold dear.

For my card, I chose to work with G45 papers. The sentiment is from a Spellbinders set. I also used rock candy on the roofs of the houses to add some sparkle.

So now all that is left is for you to join us here, Theresa xx

Doggie in the Window

Hello there and welcome to another Sunday Song and Rhyme challenge. Our sponsor this time is Beccy's place, which offers a $10 voucher from their shop.

The song chosen this week is:

(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?

Song by Patti Page
How much is that doggie in the window?
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window?
I do hope that doggie's for sale
I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog, he won't be lonesome
And the doggie will have a good home
How much is that doggie in the window?
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window?
I do hope that doggie's for sale
I read in the papers there are robbers
With flashlights that shine in the dark
My love needs a doggie to protect him
And scare them away with one bark
I don't want a bunny or a kitty
I don't want a parrot that talks
I don't want a bowl of little fishies
He can't take a goldfish for a walk
How much is that doggie in the window?
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window?
I do hope that doggie's for sale

Songwriters: Bob Merrill

I chose to work with an image from a set called Dog Tales too. As I am in full panic mode making Christmas cards I wanted to use the image to make a Christmas card. I coloured the image with grey scale Promarkers and fussy cut it. I found a Christmas lounge paper from Hunkydory which I have had in my stash forever. I created an outside wall using a Crafter's companion embossing folder and oxide inks. The window came with the folder.
The sentiment is from Spellbinders which is die cut 3 times and then I added a black sparkle pen on top. the decoration is also from another Spellbinders set.

So now it is up to you to come join us. See you there, Theresa xx.

O Tannenbaum

Hi there. It is time for another Sunday Song and Rhyme challenge. This week our sponsor is Fred she said and there is a $10 gift voucher from the shop.

The song I chose for this challenge is O Tannenbaum and below is the English version:

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are thy branches
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are thy branches
Your boughs, so green in Summer-time
Stay bravely green in Winter-time
O Tannenbaum, O Christmas tree
How lovely are thy branches
Let us all remember in our gift giving and our merriment
With our family and friends and loved ones
The real and true meaning of Christmas
The birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
How lovely are, are thy branches
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
How lovely are, how lovely are thy branches
Their pillars all please faithfully
Our trust in God unchangedly
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
How lo-lovely are thy branches

On Comet
On Cupid
On Donder and Blitzen

I chose to work with the line art image called Pine trees. As for coloring it in I used Letraset Promarkers. I added snow by hitting a white sharpie with a ruler. Stickles glitter glue helped to define the snowy ground and I also added some sequins for extra sparkle. The sentiment is a Memory Box die cut out of shiny black card.

Now it is over to you. Please come and join us here. Take care, Theresa xx.

October

Hi there. It is time for another Sunday Song and Rhyme challenge. This week is all about Halloween as the song /poem chosen talks about this.

Our Song/Rhyme this fortnight is from Lorie

October
by John Updike from A Child's Calendar

The month is Amber,
Gold and Brown.
Blue ghosts of smoke
Float through the town.

Great V’s of geese
Honk overhead.
And maples turn
A fiery red.

Frost bites the lawn.
The stars are slits
In the black cat’s eye
Before he spits.

At last, small witches,
Goblins, hags,
And pirates armed
With paper bags.

Their costumes hinged
On safety pins,
Go haunt a night
Of pumpkin grins.

Our sponsor this time is Polkadoodles and there are prizes up for grabs.

I chose to work with an image called Autumn Wheelbarrow which I coloured using Letraset Promarkers. The papers are from Graphic45. I finished it off with some black sequins.

So now it is over to you to come join us for this challenge. Take care Theresa x

We're going to be friends

So here I am again. It is time for another Sunday Song and Rhyme challenge. The poem for this c hallenge is:

We're Going to Be Friends by The White Stripes

Fall is here, hear the yell
Back to school, ring the bell
Brand new shoes, walking blues
Climb the fence, books and pens
I can tell that we are gonna be friends
I can tell that we are gonna be friends
Walk with me, Suzy Lee
Through the park and by the tree
We will rest upon the ground
And look at all the bugs we found
Safely walk to school without a sound
Safely walk to school without a sound
Here we are, no one else
We walked to school all by ourselves
There's dirt on our uniforms
From chasing all the ants and worms
We clean up and now its time to learn
We clean up and now its time to learn

Our sponsor this week is Gecko Galz. I chose to work with an image that came from a set called Peace on Earth. This set has some gorgeous images that are worth having a look at. There are some gorgeous stained glass window ones that I will play with next.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and used a glitter sakura pen to add shimmer to berries, star and wings. It looks so much better IRL.
I finished it off with a die cut sentiment and some glitter card.
So come join us with the chllenge. There is a $25 voucher for one lucky winner! See you there, Theresa xx.

Vintage Christmas berries

Hello everyone. I know it's been a minute since I last blogged, but I thought I'd give it another go. I am part of the Outlawz Songs and rhymes challenge DT now and there is a challenge every fortnight. The challenge is simple, there is a song chosen everytime and a project is created inspired by any phrase in the song.

My card was inspired by the phrase "Winter comes, snow covers the ground". The image is from Alex Syberia Designs and is called Vintage Christmas Berries. I coloured it in using Promarkers and added some splatters from white and gold Posca pens. Sentiment was created on a Dymo machine.

So come join us over at Songs and Rhymes blog

take care, Theresa xx

Purple 18th

Hello there. The Festive Friday Challenge is on once again and this time I have remembered to post.

This was a card that I had to whip up near enough on the spot as my son wanted a card for his friend. His friend's favourite colour is purple so I tried to incorporate as much of it as I could. I used oxides for inking and stamping. The stamps are mostly from Andy Skinner sets and some others from magazine freebies.
The number is 3 die-cuts stacked together. The top ones are inked and went over with a clear sparkle pen and then glossy accents on top.

So now it is over to you to join us over at the Festive Friday Challenge. See you on the other side, Theresa xx.

Mother's day card

Hello again. It is time for another Festive Fridays Challenge over at the Outlawz. As usual, I'm late to the parade as the challenge went out on Friday 30th.

Without further ado let me get to today's offering. This is the card I made for my mum on Mother's day. I used Altenew rose stamps and Altenew ink to stamp the flowers and then using large dies, I die cut the word Mama out of the card. I die cut Mama 2 more times and stacked the letters up to give them height. I matted the card and then put the letters in their relevant spaces. I stamped the sentiment underneath and finished off with some sequins.

So now it is over to you. There are a number of themes that you can find on the blog. See you on the other side, Hugs Theresa xx

Special birthday

Hello there. I know it's been a while since my last post. Today starts another Festive Fridays Challenge over at the Outlawz.
It was my turn to choose the themes and one of them was a Special birthday.

I decided to go with this card that my son asked me to make for one of his friends using her favourite colours. It is a simple card made by using an Allandcreate stencil and distress oxides.

The rest is die cuts, sequins and glossy accents. I used the same stencil and inks to decorate the envelope to match. I made 2 similar cards so the envelope is from the other one I think as the colours are darker 😅.
So why don't you join us over at FFC on Outlawz? Take care, crafty hugs, Theresa xx

Arum lilies

Hello, my friends and welcome back to another TTCRD anything goes challenge. I am late once again but this time in my defence my back was playing up so I only finished the card this morning before I went to work. Once back I had to cook tea for my boys before I could get to posting anything.
Anyway enough of that. This week we are sponsored by Beccy's place and I chose to work with these beautiful Arum lilies.

I printed the flowers on smooth card and coloured them using spectrum noir alcohol markers. The sentiment is from Altenew stamps called sentiments 2. and the sequins are also by Altenew.
So now it is over to you. See you on the other side, stay safe Theresa xx

gone fishing

So once again I am late with my posting. It is time for another TTCRD anything goes challenge.
This week our sponsor is Hetty Clare.

I chose to work with this adorable image called Gone fishing. I enjoyed colouring it in with promarkers and then attached it on the inside of the card creating a window on the front to peep through.

So now it is over to you. See you on the other side and stay safe, Theresa xx

Rose teapot

Hello crafters and welcome back. I know I'm not very consistent with my blogging but I keep trying.
This week over at TTCRD we are sponsored by LeAnn's World 101. I chose to work with this teapot which I thought is really beautiful.

I just printed it onto smooth white card and coloured it in using promarkers. I tried to keep it simple so I could work the background a bit more. Below is a bigger closeup. So now it is over to you. Hope to see you on the other side, Theresa xx.

Snowman

Hello my friends and welcome back to another TTCRD anything goes challenge. This week we are sponsored by The Paper Shelter. They are offering 3 digi stamps from their shop. They do have some lovely images and offer pre-coloured versions as well so making a card can be very quick.

I chose to work with an image called Snowman. And yes I can hear you groaning - not Christmas again! But I do love this image and in fact, I made 2 cards with it, one coloured and one grayscale.

I found matching patterned paper from a 6x6 pad by Crafters Companion, added some die cuts, gems and twine and both cards were finished.

Now it is over to you. Please come join us. See you on the other side, Theresa xx

tulips

Hello my friends. It has been a while since I posted on here, but life has a habit of getting in the way.

Anyway, it is time for another TTCRD anything goes challenge and this week are images are courtesy of Bugaboo stamps. I chose to work with this tulip image that I felt was apt for Easter.

I coloured the image using Promarkers and then matted and layered. I fished it off using foils to add some sparkle. I also added glossy accents to the ladybugs.
The sentiment is a generic die-cut out twice in white and once in black and stuck together for dimension. Once dry and stuck to the card I went over it with a clear sparkle pen and then with glossy accents.
Have a great day, Theresa xx

friends

Hello crafty friends and welcome to another TTCRD anything goes challenge. This week we are sponsored by Wink Wink Ink.

I chose to work with this image as they reminded me of unlikely friends that get together because of circumstances. I used watercolour pencils and a water brush. I actually really liked the result I achieved here. I finished it off with a white posca pen and glossy accents.

So get crafting and share your make with us, remember anything goes, hugs Theresa xx.
