Peace on Earth

Hello there. I'm late again with my post for Through the Craft Room Door. I don't know what is happening but I can't seem to keep up lately. Anyway, I guess better late than never.

So this is my inspiration for this week. Our sponsor is Imagine that Digi stamp.
The prize is a $10 voucher to the store.

I chose to work with a set of stamps called Elegant ornaments. These can be purchased as outlines, like I used, or ready coloured.
I chose the outlines because that gave me options when colouring in and embellishing the card.
The sentiment is also part of the set.

So now it is over to you. Remember that our challenge is always anything goes. For further inspiration and some reminders please visit the main TTCRD blog here.

So have fun creating and please share with us, hugs Theresa xx

TTCRD 15th Nov challenge

Hello my friends. It is time for another TTCRD challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Star Stampz and they are offering the lucky winner 3 digital images from their shop.

This time I chose to work with this beautiful image of the girl reading which I flipped over just to change it a bit. You can find this image here.

As always our challenge is anything goes and you can enter the challenge twice. All the details of how I made this card will be published in the next TTCRD magazine.

So go on and visit the main blog and join us this week. Hope to see you on the other side, Theresa xx.

gelatos and IndigoBlu

Hello my friends. Recently I watched Kay on Hochanda working with gelatos and she inspired me to play.

As the current challenge on the Indigoblu blog is monochrome , I decided to go with this theme.
So out came all the blue gelatos and a white pearl one. I then used watercolour card and scribbled with the gelatos which I spritzed liberally with water and allowed to drip and run.

I then stamped the beautiful snowflake (I love this stamp) several times using a dark blue gelato. Using one of the gelato tools I stamped several dots and added shadow and highlighted areas to emulate bubbles.

I then stamped the snowflake twice on acetate and embossed one in blue pearl and the other in black detail wow embossing powder. I fussy cut them and layered them so the black created a shadow.
I stamped the sentiment in cobalt blue archival ink and clear embossed. I die cut it with a banner die by Sue Wilson and attached as shown.

I finished it off with some seed beads and 2 snowflakes. It's a pity that the shimmer is not captured by the photos.

ice, snow and lots of sparkle

Hello my friends. I'm really late with this post as it should have been published on Friday when the Fussy and Fancy challenge went live. But alas life got in the way. I have been uber busy and didn't manage this. Better late than never though.

Our challenge for this fortnight was set by the talented Judy and she chose the theme: ice, snow and lots of sparkle.
Our sponsors for this challenge are Live and Love Crafts and they are offering a £10 voucher to the shop.

For this card I used several dies. The snow globe, trees, sentiment, and snowflakes are Sizzix thinlets by Tim Holtz while the dear are from Cottage Cuts.

The blue background card was covered with Stick it and covered in diamond  snow glitter jewels by Creative expressions.
The snowflakes are also covered in stick it and covered in platinum distress glitter.
The edge around the red kraft co'ordinations card is iced snow.

Inside the shaker element, I put in various seed beads, sequins, and distress glitter.
I added further sequins to snowflakes, on the red card and some small pearls for good measure. So with all this glitter and sparkle I hope I fit the bill. For further inspiration please visit the rest of the team on the main FFFC blog here.
See you on the other side, Theresa xx

graduation day

Hello my friends. It is time for another Through the Craft Room Door challenge. This month you are in for a treat from us. We celebrate the 2nd year since Cara took over this site with another blog hop. All the details are at TTCRD and in my blog hop post here.

Our sponsor this week is Stamping Boutique. The winner will get 2 images from the shop unless they use a Stamping boutique image and then they get 3.

The image I chose to work with is Graduation Day. I must say that I really enjoyed working with this image and it was a welcome break from all the Christmas cards I have been making.

Also, this is again a nearly monochrome card with just a pop of red. I do love working with this colour combination.

As usual the details of this card will be in the next issue of the TTCRD magazine which is due out soon.
And remember that our challenge is always anything goes. For more inspiration hop over to the main blog where you will see the lovely projects created by my team mates. So go on, what are you waiting for? See you on the other side, hugs Theresa xx
