Winter Emily

Hello there. I'm playing catch up again. This post was supposed to go live yesterday but my internet was playing up.

It is time for another TTCRD challenge. This week our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine. The winner will get 3 images of choice from their shop.
My image is called Winter Emily. Although it is not the kind of image that I usually go for I really enjoyed the colouring process as there was lots of movement in the clothes and also shadows.

All the details will be published in the next edition of the TTCRD magazine. So now it is up to you to join us in the challenge. Remember it is always anything goes.
See you on the other side, Theresa xx.

Christmas gifts ...

Hello my friends. So at work it was decided to have a secret Santa. I always dread what name I'm going to pull out as some people can be difficult to buy for.

So I decided that I was going to make something myself and out came the wooden snowflakes.

I gessoed it back and front and once dry out came the fresco finish paints by Paperartsy. I used lake Wanaka, space cadet and ice blue. i again used them back and front.

Once dry I painted it with crackle paint all over and left to dry naturally. I then went all over with Faber castell glass glitter and bead gel.

I wrapped some micro LED lights all around and then started to embellish it. I die cut a large snowflake by Memory box and 3 smaller Tim Holtz sizzix thinlets. Before I die cut the smaller ones I added double sided tape to card. I covered these in iced snow and diamond sprinkles from Cosmic shimmer.

I added some floristry fibres to base and then piled up the snowflakes on top and finished with a gem.
Then I added other embellishments such as berries, bits of glittered pine needles.

Finally I added some other gems and sequins and ribbon for hanging the ornament.

My son saw it and asked me to make him one for a friend of his to give as a present. So I made a second one.

So now I have too wait till next week to find out if my secret Santa will be well received. My son's friend loved hers so at least that is 1 out of 2.

I would like to enter these snowflakes in the following challenges:

peace on earth in pastel tones

Hello my friends. It's time for another Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge.
This time our challenge is being hosted by the talented Pat K. For this challenge she chose the theme of Christmas in tones or pastels. This is what she had to say:

Hello Fussy and Fancy Friends!
I am hosting the challenge this fortnight and I have chosen a
Christmas theme in tones or pastels!
I hope you enjoy the theme and I am looking forward to seeing all of your
lovely creations!
Hugs, Pat K.

Our sponsor this week is Noor Designs who are offering a £10 voucher to their store.

So I know I used this die last month but I really liked it and so made a few cards with it. It is the snowglobe thinlet by Tim Holtz. I cut the globe out of a yellow piece of DCWV card. I backed it with acetate and mounted it on foam tape.
I covered the blue card with a double sided adhesive sheet and covered it with diamond sprinkles for a bit of sparkle.

I die cut a cottage cutz bauble in antique gold card and added distress glitter to the star. I stuck it down to the mounting foam and added another layer on top. I then added sequins, iced snow and seed beads to it and stuck the blue backing down to create a shaker card.

I assembled the other piece of the globe in brown card and added stickles to it. I finished the card off by adding a sentiment from the Tim Holtz winter sentiments and a spellbinders poinsettia. The little stars are from the globe embellishments.
So now it is over to you. You have 2 weeks to enter this challenge. See you there, hugs Theresa xx.

Peace on Earth

Hello there. I'm late again with my post for Through the Craft Room Door. I don't know what is happening but I can't seem to keep up lately. Anyway, I guess better late than never.

So this is my inspiration for this week. Our sponsor is Imagine that Digi stamp.
The prize is a $10 voucher to the store.

I chose to work with a set of stamps called Elegant ornaments. These can be purchased as outlines, like I used, or ready coloured.
I chose the outlines because that gave me options when colouring in and embellishing the card.
The sentiment is also part of the set.

So now it is over to you. Remember that our challenge is always anything goes. For further inspiration and some reminders please visit the main TTCRD blog here.

So have fun creating and please share with us, hugs Theresa xx

TTCRD 15th Nov challenge

Hello my friends. It is time for another TTCRD challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Star Stampz and they are offering the lucky winner 3 digital images from their shop.

This time I chose to work with this beautiful image of the girl reading which I flipped over just to change it a bit. You can find this image here.

As always our challenge is anything goes and you can enter the challenge twice. All the details of how I made this card will be published in the next TTCRD magazine.

So go on and visit the main blog and join us this week. Hope to see you on the other side, Theresa xx.

gelatos and IndigoBlu

Hello my friends. Recently I watched Kay on Hochanda working with gelatos and she inspired me to play.

As the current challenge on the Indigoblu blog is monochrome , I decided to go with this theme.
So out came all the blue gelatos and a white pearl one. I then used watercolour card and scribbled with the gelatos which I spritzed liberally with water and allowed to drip and run.

I then stamped the beautiful snowflake (I love this stamp) several times using a dark blue gelato. Using one of the gelato tools I stamped several dots and added shadow and highlighted areas to emulate bubbles.

I then stamped the snowflake twice on acetate and embossed one in blue pearl and the other in black detail wow embossing powder. I fussy cut them and layered them so the black created a shadow.
I stamped the sentiment in cobalt blue archival ink and clear embossed. I die cut it with a banner die by Sue Wilson and attached as shown.

I finished it off with some seed beads and 2 snowflakes. It's a pity that the shimmer is not captured by the photos.
