Snow friend

Hello my friends. It's time for another TTCRD anything goes challenge. As you can see I am continuing with my Christmas cards.

This week we are sponsored by Wink Wink Ink. The winner will get a whopping $15 voucher to spend in the store.

I chose to work with this sweet image that has a Victorian feel to it. It is called Snowfriend.

I coloured it in with Faber Castell pencils - polychromos. I tried to keep to 3 shades per colour and make sure I left light areas for contrast.

I used a number of dies here: Tim Holtz sizzix thinlets snowflakes and Christmas words and Sue Wilson double pierced oval dies.

To finish it off i used some glossy accents on the buttons and the boy's wellies and a few pearls.

Christmas star

Hello, my friends. These projects were inspired by the new LIM challenge. I started with one card but then as often happens, they mushroomed :).

I knew I wanted to use kraft card. So I hunted for a stamp that inspired and I found this one by Claritystamp. It talks about the Christmas star. So I stamped it in versamark ink and embossed it with white detail powder. I die cut a small star from the centre and another in white card.

I added iced diamond to the star and also to the white mat. The star is stuck proud with collal glue gel. I then added seed beads from my stash (real objects).

I like the idea so I decided to make a couple more that were even simpler. Using the same stamp, I embossed it with black detail powder on the white and Hematite on the ivory. This time I added wooden stars apart from seed beads which I hope will count towards the real object.

Hello, my friends. It is time for another TTCRD anything goes challenge. 

This week we are being sponsored by Lisa Decosse' and the digi papers we used are from the set Simple beauty.

   

The winner will win this set along with Beauty of Butterflies and Floral cats.

As you can see I chose to work with the left-hand side edge papers. I thought that the patterned paper looked like snowflakes, so I decided to make a Christmas card with the papers. I also got a sentiment to work with them. 

I layered all the papers on the computer and added shadows and printed it out in one layer. To finish off I added some stardust stickles glue to the centre of snowflakes and to the painted wooden snowflake. Lastly, I added a pearl in the centre. and voila' one quick and easy card.

Things with wings

Hello and welcome to my blog for another post. This time it is for the Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge.

This week our challenge is hosted by the talented Norma and she has chosen the theme Things with wings.

Luckily I had just made this card for my brother's birthday. The background is made with distress oxides. I brushed fossilized amber on a piece of Sheena stamping card. I then used a stencil and brushed broken china and worn lipstick

I then shifted the stencil and stamped with black archival ink in a random fashion with a stamp that was on my desk.

I then added the twine and the die cut bird and sentiment. I finished it off with a few seed beads.

The bird die is from sizzix and the sentiment is a Tim Holtz one. The blue card is from the ice blue luxury card by Crafter's Companion.

Christmas is on its way

Hi there my friends. I seem to have rediscovered my blog which I must say I had really neglected. This time I have a CAS card on offer.

It was inspired by the LIM challenge blog. It sent me looking for this Sheena Douglass stamp which I have had for ages and never got to use. I used watercolour card and stamped in watering can archival ink.

I then used distress markers and a damp brush to colour it in; twisted citron, mermaid lagoon, blueprint sketch, hickory smoke, lucky clover and a bit of ground espresso.

Considering it is a Christmas card, some glitter had to be used. So I added some Stardust stickles to highlight the snow.

I also added glossy accents to the glass panels.

The sentiment is embossed with a wow embossing powder. And another one off the list!

mistletoe aka to be or not to be...

Hello, my friends. I nearly didn't make it for this week's TTCRD challenge. My printer broke so I couldn't make the card as I couldn't print anything off.

So I thought to myself that maybe I could get the stuff printed at work. It was all going well until I saw the black line across the sheet and the smudge in another area. So I set myself the challenge to work with what I got!

This week we are being sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps. I chose to work with mistletoe which you will find here.

I used my neglected sakura glaze pens to colour in the mistletoe. The sentiment is from Claritystamp and is embossed with a wow powder.

The positioning was more or less out of my control. The red strip of card hides the smudge and the sentiment is around that area too.

So hopefully I managed to make a decent card against all odds.

orchids

Hello, my friends. This card was inspired by a card I saw on Papercraft inspirations magazine and was made using the free stamps that came with it.

I must confess that I love orchids and I find the flowers fascinating. Back to the card. I stamped 3 outline orchids in watering can archival ink and then added 3 leaves and buds.

I stamped 3 more orchids on a separate piece of card. I filled in the colour using the solid stamp and second generation love letter memento ink. The inner darker colour was stamped in 1st generation love letter ink.

I painted the buds with the same ink and a damp brush and for the leaves, I used ivy cottage ink.

I fussy cut the 3 flowers and overlayed onto the card to give a bit of dimension.

As for the sentiment, I used Sue Wilson Happy Birthday dies. The birthday is die cut directly onto the white card so that the base colour peeps through. The happy is done on kraft card so the white peeps through. I used kraft card for the base and added some pearls to finish off.

I must say I really like the way this card turned out, what do you think? Hugs, Theresa xx
