white wedding

Hello my friends. Today's offering is a white on white affair. I must confess that I love white on white cards and I also think that they look so elegant.

 I think what is most unusual for me is the fact that I have not used any stamps to create this card. I have used white linen card throughout.

I started by embossing the card with the trailing vines embossing folder.

I then die cut several flowers and leaves. I shaped them with a large embossing tool and double mounted some of them. I added a pearl in the centres and then arranged them as shown.

I die cut wedding day and with the letters still in the die i added silver pen so it left a white outline.

I added a hint of silver along embossed dots just for a further highlight.

Finally i matted it on white linen mat and then lifted it off with foam pads when I attached it to base card.

A single rose ......

Hello my friends. Time is really flying by and I don't seem to be keeping up with it.

Hello again. You might get fed up with me this week, but hopefully you don't mind. I thought i'd post a couple of similar cards that fit some CAS challenges. They are also very quick to make.

For the first card I embossed a piece of orange coredinations card with the falling leaves folder from Hochanda. I then sanded it lightly.

I inked around the leaves with autumn colours and the sanded edges picked the colour up as you can see.

I then stamped the sentiment from Claritystamp on matching green card and die cut it with a tag shape.

The ribbon I got from Lidl and it came with embellishment as well.

The second card is similar. Just different coredinations card (kraft core). I did same sanding and inking.

The cute hedgehog is from a set of embellishments that my husband bought me from Lidl again. So is the ribbon and it came with mushrooms at intervals too.

Trick or treat?

Hello again. It is time Friday so time for another challenge at the Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge.

The current challenge is being hosted by the lovely Gunn-Eirill and she has chosen a colour challenge. The colours are Orange, Black or Purple and you need to chose at least 2 colours to work with.

This challenge is being sponsored by The Ribbon Girl.

As you can see I misread the instructions myself and thought you had to work with all the colours so I went for all 3.

i started with a tin of Nescafe that luckily had an orange lid.

So I set about preparing the background first. I cut a piece of black card and painted it generously with PVA glue. I dried it quickly with a heat tool making sure that it was still damp yet dry to touch (hope this makes sense). I then painted over it with Paperartsy orange acrylic paint.

Then the magic happens and as it dries completely it starts to split and crack!

Next I cut out a rectangle die cut from the Emerald range by Hochanda, out of black card. Using the alphabet dies from the same range I die cut 2 sets of upper and lower case letters from black card covered with a Stick it sheet. I also die cut a flourish from another set of dies.

I stuck them down on the rectangle and added ripe persimmon distress glitter to the sentiment and seedless preserve to the flourish. I stuck the whole thing down onto the covered tin. I then added purple pearls around the edge.

I was left with loads of letters at this point so I spelt SCREAM and BOO! and stuck them to the back. These I used black soot distress glitter on.

 Next it was time for the cobwebs. So out came the Angelina fibres. I used white blue pearl and a purple one. Both had purple hues, hence why I chose them. I scattered them around and heated them slightly and they adhered to wherever they where.

The final thing was some shrink plastic embellies. I stamped the skull by Tim Holtz, die cut it and heated it to shrink. I also die cut 3 spiders from a similar Tim Holtz set and coloured them with alcohol inks. ou can see them below.

And finally I filled the tin with Halloween treats.

ho, ho, ho ....

Hello there. I seem to be just having busy weeks lately. Birthdays are just creeping up on me and then I have to really scramble to get a card together. However today I am sharing a Christmas card with you today.

 On a piece of white card I painted the background using Aqua tints. These are watercolour paints that are very vibrant. To get the landscape I used a piece of torn card.

To create the moon and clouds I used a faux bleaching technique with just water.

I added depth to the hills with distress inks that work very well with the aqua tints.

I then stamped the images using archival inks in first and second generation.

All the stamps are from Sheena Douglass.

I tried to add a bit more depth to the moon by adding a bit of Wink of Stella. The stars are added using a white Sharpie.

The dies are the Emerald ones from Hochanda.

Sakura Maiden

Hello there. It must be Tuesday again and it is Team B's turn to post inspiration for Through the Craft room Door.

This week our sponsor is Moonflower digistamps and the fair maiden that I chose to work with is Sakura maiden which you will find here.

Because she is so dainty, I decided to colour her in with gentle shades of promarkers. I also kept the card simple as I wanted the image to be prominent and not to be lost in embellishments.

The outlawz challenge - twisted Thursday

crazy bird and coffee....

Hello there. Today i have an all Tim Holtz affair for you. This is actually my husband's birthday card and it combines some things that he loves. The first is coffee of which he drinks copious amounts. He also loves robins and I wanted to use the crazy birds and this one kind of reminds me of him. So I put everything on this card.

Enough of that and onto how I made the card. I started with a 15x15 cm piece of white card. I stamped the coffee mug in potting soil archival ink and masked it off. Next I stamped the bag of coffee beans in same ink and masked it off too.

Next it was time to attend to background. I used squeezed lemonade, scattered straw and   wild honey on top half and blended them in smoothly graduating the colour. On the bottom half I used pumice stone, hickory smoke and scattered straw and again made sure that everything was graduating and blending in to create an ombre effect background.

Then I used a textured background stamp and and inked with scattered straw and went around the card as you can see above and below.

With the other stamp I used vintage photo and went around again but stamping a narrower edge. 

I inked all around the edges with vintage photo just to darken it slightly all round.

For the next bit I had to make sure that the ink was dry. I also went over it with dust buddy to make sure it was dry. Using the cornice stamp from the outer edge I stamped all around with versamark and embossed with gold detail powder.

I then coloured the images with promarkers. I used skin colours for mug and light browns for coffee bag. I then added more detail with the spectrum noir pencils.

I used the pencils to add shading around the objects and for shadows.

On a separate piece of card I stamped the bird twice in potting soil archival. i coloured him in with distress inks, espresso coffee, fossilized amber, abandoned coral. I added glossy accents to eyes and beak and after they dried I die cut them out and assembled the bird.

I also added glossy accents to the coffee beans and clear embossed the mug. The coffee is shiny too as I added clear wink of stella to it.

I matted on dark brown card and then onto burlap.
