washi tape and stencils

Hello my friends. I have found a bit of time for a rare blog post and to participate in a challenge. Seems a luxury to me nowadays.

Both cards came together very quickly and I must say I was quite pleased with the results. The inspiration for both came from the challenge over at Less is More.

So i basically started with a stencil and distress inks in both cases. Stencils are from the Sheena Douglass ranges.

After inking I stamped the sentiment in Black archival ink in a Linda Horton stamp and added the tape along one side. Tape is from Lidl.

On this card I added  Tim Holtz tape horizontally first before adding the vertical tape. Stamp is from the same set. And now both are on their way to the recipients. I hope they like them, hugs Theresa xx.

I would like to enter these cards in the following challenges:

TTCRD challenge - Neomie Easter

Hello my friends. It is time for another TTCRD challenge. This time our sponsor is Little Miss Muffet Stamps and she is offering a $6 voucher to the lucky winner.

.
I chose to work with this sweet image called Polka Dot Pals Neomie Easter

I must say that I do not normally work with these cute images but she was great to colour. I also added aa nose and mouth as I struggle with these images with just eyes.

I found a background in my stash that I thought worked well with her, so I fussy cut her and added her with glue gel.

The buttons were conveniently on my desk and so I decided to use them.

So now it is over to you. Hope to see you on the other side. Hugs, Theresa xx

Anniversary of Ordination

Hello and welcome to another Fussy and Fancy Challenge. This week our challenge is being hosted by Jay and she chose "anything goes" as a theme.

Recently our parish priest celebrated the 40th anniversary of ordination and this is the card that I made for him.
For the background, I started by printing the sentiment on a piece of Sheena stamping card.I then trimmed it and faux letterpressed it. Using one of Sheena's embossing folders ( sorry can't remember name), I inked it with squeezed lemonade and fired brick distress ink. Then I put the card with the sentiment in and embossed it. I then inked around edges with walnut stain to darken them.

The main image comes from a set of Holy Communion stamps. I stamped it in watering can archival ink and coloured it in with my Faber Castell polychromos.
I die cut it using a Sue Wilson pierced circle die. I die cut a mat out of burgundy card and edged it with a gold pen.

I assembled card as shown and then for a final embellishment I die cut a burgundy cross by Spellbinders. A few card candi in the opposite corner finish the card off.

For the inside I printed a sentiment off the internet that I felt was very apt for Fr Bob. And that, my friends, is my offer for today.
Now it is over to you. Remember it is anything goes. See you on the other side, Hugs Theresa xx.
