sweetlilacflowerschallenge - baby

So it is that time of month again when the new sweet lilac challenge is launched. Where is the time flying? already we are in mid February. It seems like 2 mins ago that we were celebrating the new year!

Enough of that and back to the challenge. this moth it is 'baby'. this card was inspired by the lovely Emma Williams. Now this is quite different to hers but the whole concept started from the die cut baby. I had some graphic 45 papers that also worked for this theme and i decided to use them.....I'm getting a sadistic pleasure when i'm cutting into them.....Don't analyse this too deeply please!

Back to the card.... So i started by cutting the letters b a b y on my slice  out of taupe card. I inked them with brushed corduroy and gathered twigs distress inks. Next i cut the baby image from a little darlings page (g45), tore the edges and inked with antique linen, brushed corduroy and gathered twigs to distress it. I matted this on taupe and matching green card.

The background polka dot is another g45 paper that I distressed in same way. Again I matted it on green and added lace from Sweet lilac flowers before sticking it down on 6x6 taupe base card.

Then it was time to add more embellishments and i chose to add flowers and leaves again from sweet lilac flowers. I inked the flowers with same inks and added clear wink of stella but this is difficult to see in pics. In real life the flowers have a lovely shimmer.

I added the word baby and finished the card with some pearls.  I hope you like it and please don't forget to join the challenge over at Sweetlilac blog....you can win some lovely stash...., Theresa xx

And my friends this is a card made without a stamp in sight! It has been a long time since I made one of these......
