snow....

Hello and welcome back. Today I thought i'll share another MDF project on here. I hope you don't mind, But I do love making and giving these out as presents.

Christmas is only a week away, yikes!....... and I am nowhere near ready.

I got this word from Rob the MDF man. I started by covering all the letters in wintry papers. I've had them for years, from the time when craft was on QVC.

Then it was time to do some stamping. So I stamped with versamark ink and a snowflake and embossed in silver tinsel. crystal, and blue tinsel.

Then I went round all the edges with silver gilding wax.

Now it was time to turn my attention to embellishments. I had some wooden snowflakes in different sizes which I thought would be perfect for this. So I set about decorating them.

 For the smaller ones I embossed in silver tinsel, blue tinsel and white sparkle. I added a pearl to the centre of them.

I painted the large one on the 'n' in ice blue fresco paint. Then I added a layer of pva glue and once it started setting, painted over it with snowflake acrylic paint. And then the magic happens and it starts to crackle. Once it dried I added a pinh of  beaded glitter paste to it to add further texture and sparkle. 

The other medium ones, I embossed in chunky white powder and on one added a sprinkle of blue tinsel and on the other stardust.

Once I stuck them into place I got out blingy and pearl swirls and attached them as shown. I am not normally a lover of bling but I think it is fine on Christmas projects.

As a final touch I added some snow and sprinkled it with diamond sprinkles. Then I assembled it with silver cord and it was ready to be given to my older son's form teacher.

So I hope you approve. My son said his teacher loved it, hugs Theresa xx.
