Christmas wish

I'm back again with another quick card. After I looked at the LIM challenge I got the idea for this card.

The stamps are by Sheena Douglass and they came with issue 12 of the Crafter's Companion magazine.
I started by masking off the area for the sentiment with a post- it and then I inked around it with distress inks: brushed corduroy, vintage photo and gathered twigs. With the mask still in place, I stamped the holly with potting soil archival ink.

I removed the mask and stamped the sentiment and embossed in detail gold. I then stamped with the holly stamp around 2 edges of the card. I coloured them in with distress inks and a damp brush: bundled sage, forest moss and barn door.
I went around all 4 edges with Versa mark and embossed with gold powder and then mounted the card on base. To finish it I added glossy accents to berries and went around sentiment area with a brown fine liner.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Less is more challenge - celebration or festivals

  1. This has such a fantastic traditional festive feel with the holly in reds and greens and the soft brown inking round the sentiment. I love the Glossy Accents on the berries too - super touch! Thanks for playing along with us in our 300th challenge at Less is More :)

  2. This SD holly stamp is very pretty Theresa, and I love your masking to make the sentiment tag which works beautifully. The gold embossing for the sentiment stands out really well too. A delightful Christmas card. x
